Hair Fabulous

I want to do this with my hair!

And this:

I do something like this already:

I’ve always wanted bangs but never had the guts to cut my hair. Luckily, I can still have “pin up bangs” and keep my hair the way it is!

What are some of your favorite hair videos? What has inspired you?

I found a great video that helped me learn how to do my girlfriend’s hair in 5 minutes. If I wanted her to have an authentic look when I wore my Air Corps uniform to hangar dances, I had to do her hair. She just gets too frustrated trying to do it herself, and gives up. This video made it easy for me to figure out:

Sally Beauty Supply stores are pretty common, so I found one fairly close and bought different sizes of the black Salon Care Foam Rollers, since they sell for a very inexpensive buck two fifty. I found the 7/8″ diameter rolls are the best for shoulder length hair.

These have the plastic rods in the middle and outside and are held together with a clasp which is designed to hold hair against the roller in order to curl it. By removing the plastic piece by just pulling it out, one can use the roll to aid in making Victory Rolls. They are a bit too short (2-3/4″), so I super glued two together, end to end, and then trimmed off the excess, making them about 4″ long. Length will vary depending on head size (actual, not perceived). 🙂

For make-up, this dame went into great detail which works for people with light compexions.

I did the 40s faux bangs last weekend, and while it took me several hours to make it work (also had to improvise the hair rat) it was totally worth it. My hair still looked great after 8 hours of dancing 🙂 And actually my facebook profile photo is of my hair from that night! Thanks for sharing it!

I need to MAKE some hair videos. I usually wear my hair up, just because it drives me crazy when it’s down, so I learned how to wear my hair a million different ways. Summers before I started driving I would just sit around and do my hair over and over. Problem is, every time I get my hair thinned, I have to make up new ways to make it work all over again. The bright side is that when I put it up, it won’t weigh fifteen thousand pounds. My hair is way too thick naturally to pin up.
