Day 27 – Mohawk Monday!!

I declare that it is Mohawk Monday!! I am rocking one today. How about you?

I love them and think everyone should wear one at least once. Here are my favorite mohawk/fauxhawk tutorials:

Elegant (from Day 21), which is great for medium/long hair.

Great for shorter hair:

Great if you have 30 minutes and a friend:

Yes, this looks rather time consuming, but it’s so pretty! I’m guessing if you have thinner hair, you could instead just make little buns/pin curls up the back and then curl the top to get a similar effect. What do you think?

Which one is your favorite?

Day 24 – Roll it Up

This video is on the long side, but I love what Cherry Dollface looks like and I want to remember this hairstyle. What do you think?

If you want to follow her, here is her information:

I’ll be honest, I still haven’t bought into prepping my hair, curling it, and using products, but over the last month, clearly most of these gals prep, tease, curl, and use product and the results are solid. I find that when I haven’t washed my hair in a while, or if I’ve been keeping my hair in pin curls, I don’t tend to need product anyways. Anyone else in the same boat?

This also reminds me that I need to find a great colorist here in San Francisco. I know there are lots of them, but who is going to be my go-to-gal? Any suggestions? He/She needs to have already colored hair like mine….I’d prefer not to train another one.

xx

Day 8 – Rihanna Inspired

The ever-so-fabulous Sarah Breck sent this to me and I thought it was worthy of a share. Thanks Sarah!!

I’ve been know to wear my hair in a similar style to this, and I think how I do it is much more simple; however, I think this looks more professionally done. Regardless, I think this looks smashing.

Send me a picture if you try this. Would love to see how it looks!

Hair Tutorial – Day 21 – Side Roll

I think medium length hair would be ideal for this, but it sounds like long hair would also work. The only problem I foresee with long hair is that you have so much more to deal with!

Curl, pin, and spray! Have at it ladies.

If you do this hair style, let me know if you danced in it or not. I’m going to try this out for class, but who knows if it will actually stay in. Maybe more bobby pins will be in order. Hahah, and maybe I can bum hairspray off of someone.

Hair Tutorial – Day 10 – Hair and Makeup

This girl is cute-as-a-button! I presume the voice on the video is hers, but for me, it doesn’t connect to her face. I like that this video has a makeup tutorial attached to it, the hair portion uses a bandanna, and the whole thing is relatively quick.

Did you see when her boyfriend came in to give her a kiss? How cute!!!

I think this is a keeper for me. How about you? Easy enough?

Hair Tutorial – Day Eight – Faux Bob

So here’s something for the girls with short hair. I’m so jealous…..my hair just doesn’t hold a curl like this; it’s too heavy. As it says below, this look was inspired by the ‘Vintage Hairstyling’ by Lauren Rennells. If you’d like your own copy of the book, click here! My mum gave this book to me for Christmas last year. How sweet!!

I think this would be so lovely with a long dress. I want to say Nikki had her hair something like this for New Years. Perhaps someone will find a photo. Or maybe Claire? Or perhaps with was Sara? Hmm….I’ll start my digging….
