Swedish Hasbeens – Mimmi

I totally, freaking want these shoes. I first saw them on Miriam Parkman from Stockholm and instantly fell in love with them

I know , right?!!

This slingback model is loaded with style and will make you look like one of the greatest Hasbeens Minnie Mouse. It is easy to wear, has a 40’s rounded front with perforated leather and a bow on top. The model is easy to slip into and the buckle will allow you to adjust the strap for a perfect fit.

They have 4.1 inches high heels and have 1.2 inch high platforms in the front. The natural grain leather will be hard in the beginning but will soften by time and adapt to your feet.
Please note that natural leather if fully soaked will stretch a lot!

You can buy them here in Swedish Kroner Euros or US Dollars! If you’re Stateside, click here instead. 😀

Happy shopping

Bone Jitterbug Jane Heeled Sandals

Some fun, new fabulous shoes I stumbled upon. Good for balboa?

These fabulous retro 1940’s inspired pumps are reminiscent of the shoes women used to wear to USO dance halls during World War II. Made of bone (antique ivory) colored faux-leather, they feature a sling-back shape, darling cut-out details, maryjane style T-straps, a platform sole, and thick 3.25″ heels (2.75″ if you exclude the 1/2″ platform sole). We can’t imagine any retro swing kitten’s wardrobe would be complete without these ♥

Here they are in teal and black.

Available in full sizes only.

Holy goodness! Look at these staggering 8-inch heel Christian Louboutin designed for the English National Ballet–inspired by ballerina toe shoes auctioned off at the ballet’s “Summer Party” on Wednesday in London. Not sure how many of us could walk in them, but you can’t argue with how spectacular they are.

Yes please!!

Agent Provocateur, Moschino, Erdem and seven other designers joined Louboutin in donating couture items to help raise money for the world-renowned dance company. While couture tutus are never going to be anything but insanely beautiful, it’s Louboutin’s jaw-dropping ballet heels that really stand, um, a foot above the rest.

Louboutin reasoned,”“I could not help being inspired by English National Ballet… after all…isn’t the classical dancing ballet slipper the ultimate heel? The heel which makes dancers closer than any other women to the sky, closer to heaven!”.”

What do you think? I’m hoping Sharon Davis or Alice Mei will do a number in them. 😀 Would you even try to walk in something like this?

Lady Rizo

` ` `So I head to the Seattle Airport last night and right as I am checking in, a familiar face walks by me. “Oh my god, is that ….. Lady Rizo from the show on Saturday?” I think to myself? I do a super-mega-obvious double take and if I’m not mistaken, she does the same. Not that she would recognize me; the only time she would have seen me was while I was getting drinks with my parents before the show. Hahha, at the show I was in my wig, a white shirt, my new high-waisted jeans that I got in Korea, but at the airport I had my hair down, a blue beret, a pair of high heeled booties, and a nice jacket. (Hehehe, actually, I’ll say that’s probably the best dressed I’ve ever been at an airport. For goodness sake, I was in heels!!!)
` ` `So, this person who might be Lady Rizo walks off and I have to finish checking in. I then heads towards security and cross my fingers that I might pass her. Ta-da! There she was waiting in the security line. I asked her if she was Lady Rizo, she said yes, I told her I loved the show, and she thanked me. I then asked her if she wanted to jump to the front of the security line with me, she asked me how I was going to do that, I said I was a Gold Member (I’m a Gold Medallion Member….not one of Austin Power’s vixens) and she came with me. We chatted all the way through security and until she got on her plane. In fact, I was supposed to be on that plane, but last minute I had changed my flight so that I was going through Cincinnati instead of JFK (there was a storm coming).
` ` `Gaaah! That was so cool. It’s fun to be starstruck! It was also pretty awesome hearing another artist who has a successful story to tell. 😀

Oh yeah, and the dress she wore was a Marchesa. In the last video in this post, she’s wearing my dream dress. Freak-an-A, I can’t find a bloody photo of it though!

Ok, to the important stuff….her personality, voice, and performance! Here’s the song that changed it all for me:

She has lots of great songs that you can youtube. Here are some of my favorites:

Haha, pay attention to her backup singers. Clearly they know they’ve got their hands full. I adore her sense of humor. NOT work appropriate.

This one is a little racy and probably not work appropriate 😀

Double rainbow!!

Hahahah, a new classic. 😀 F**k You

The dress!!!

3.1 Phillip Lim Calder T-Strap Platform Pump

Oh My Goodness, I want these! They are exquisite!! It’s never going to happen, but a girl can dream.

3.1 Phillip Lim reinterprets the classic spectator pump with several notable twists: equipping it with a platform for added height, a T-strap to secure dipped construction, and juxtaposing textures in addition to colors.

  • Leather T-strap, pointed-toe front with snake-embossed leather shank, back, and heel.
  • Seam defines concealed platform.
  • Adjustable buckle.
  • Covered heel.

I can’t dance them, so maybe that can be the reason I shouldn’t get them. Haha, or the *gulp $850 price tag….yeah, that’s the biggest reason I can’t get them. Again…. a girl can dream. I’m a 38 if there are any wealthy benefactors out there. 😀
