  2. Day 4 – Pinup Faux Bangs

    I just love the color of this gal’s hair!! Again, gorgeous color and outrageous bangs.

    If you’re short on time, jump to 1:46, 5:06, and 10:25 and watch for a little  bit.

    I’ve done something similar to this, but because my hair normally isn’t super clean, it relatively stays in place with a few bobby pins, sans spray. That being said, I can now see how one can take bangs to a new height because of all the curling and spraying and curling and spraying…. :D

    I just got to Europe and burrrrr it’s cold! Luckily I have big winter coat on me for this trip, but the true wardrobe hero for me is my trusty scarf. If my neck is covered, I am one happy camper. But you know what makes me even happier than having a scarf? Well, I’m glad you asked! It’s knowing how to tie one “all pretty and shit.”

    Thank goodness for Fleur! She has a fabulous website where she shares her vintage knowledge and provides lots of authentic vintage & retro fashion inspiration, plus styling tips, recipes, events and other fab things.

    Here’s what she has to say about her video:

    “My second ever vintage hair tutorial, this time it’s 40s style faux / bumper bangs! Not quite as big as Dita von Teese’s (or her icon Carmen Miranda) but better for those not quite as brave! It could also work for a 50s, Bettie Page style look and it’s a perfect pinup girl style. Look out for the comedy fumble at the beginning!”

    I love that she calls bobby pins “curvy grips.” Oh those English, they are so charming!

    I think I’ll be spending some time on this one. I’d really like to be a master of the rat tail (hehehe). I dig the look! More on this later!!

    I’ve always wanted bangs but never had the guts to cut my hair. Luckily, I can still have “pin up bangs” and keep my hair the way it is!
